I need a medical malpractice lawyer who will work on a contingency basis. I'm seriously considering suing.

The lawsuit would be for Medical Malpractice during a cataract surgery. The surgeon left a piece of cataract in the eye which required another surgery to remove, and the eye has been permanently damaged.
you need to sue, not only for your sake but for creating an awareness. The doctor you sue and also the rest who come to know of it will perform surgery with consciousness. Many are of the opinion that they dont have to worry since they dont lose anything.they tend to think others problems are trivial. when they know it will hit them too they will come to terms.

Why are you suing?

Check with your local county bar association — they can refer you to an attorney who specializes in medical malpractice (med mal is normally taken on a contingent basis).

Contingency lawyers will always demand payment for their expenses — whether you win the case or lose it.
That will include medical testimony — a professional doctor to appear in court to testify in court in your behalf;
Other professional opinions, where appropriate;
Medical transcription, per page – from the clinic that you're suing e t c.
And lawyers are not known for saving money for their clients.
Be aware up front

I'm sorry for your problem, but before the surgery you signed a release saying you understood that surgery (like evrything else in life) entails a certain risk, and that you understood this risk.
The only grounds you would have for suit would be if you could show negligence on the part of the doctor. The surgery not going perfectly is not a symptom of negligence, it's a symptom of reality.
Best wishes…
